{newborn} beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. beautiful boy.

Ah, newborns! I haven't photographed a brand new baby in awhile so when Nancy and Jayesh asked me to take photos of their soon-to-be-born son in May, I couldn't wait! Well, we did actually end up waiting, because this "little prince", as his father calls him, was 10 days overdue!  May turned into June but finally I got to meet and photograph this sweet, sweet little boy, he was SO worth the wait!

The photo shoot was so much fun! We played with different textures and colours and were able to use some of Jayesh's mother's sarees and bracelets which added such a personal touch and embraced an important part of this new bambino's heritage.  We were also able to capture, what may be, a future English football star in action (see the last photo in this post)!

Thanks again guys, for letting me in on your new little world!

{family&children} dang, these kids are cute!

I had just gotten my new lens (a 50mm prime) when my girlfriend Melissa visited with her adorable kids.  They weren't here for very long before I whipped out my new toy and started snapping!  They were the perfect subjects to practice on and I had so much fun playing around with focus and closeups. 
Love you guys!  Thanks for the great visit and for letting me use you all as guinea pigs!

Once in a while an amazing opportunity comes up and you just have to thank God that you're a part of it.  In May I was invited by the very talented Melissa (of Simply Said Photography) to meet and shoot with herself, Shannon Steen Photography and Ashley Schultz Photography.  I had so much fun, learned so much and was able to be inspired by some beautiful and talented women.  Here are some shots from that day.  We had some great models and I am excited with the results of the shoot.  I can't wait for our next outing!

{family&children} spring in springwater!

I took photos for my lovely friend Ingrid back in May at Springwater Conservation Area in St. Thomas.  I'm excited to be able to finally show them to her!  My computer's been on the fritz lately and causing me to stress and use expletives (!), but I got a new laptop this past Friday and am celebrating it's new speed and power with this 'better-late-than-never' blog post!

Courtney and Tony were the winners of the draw I held at the Pinafore Park Mom to Mom Sale this May.  What a great experience getting to meet a new family and photograph some adorable kids! Their boys were not only cute, but so happy, patient and well behaved.  Heffren family - I'm so happy you won, and I hope I get to work with you again in the future!!
