This week's evoking you photo challenge is 'fetish' and right now mine is...BOKEH! 

/bōˈkā/  1. The visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens 2. The out of focus regions of an image usually deliberate to produce an artistic effect or draw attention to a specific area of the photograph.

Bokeh has lots of definitions, but what I love about it is when the small areas of light in the background of a photograph produce these soft, pretty circles of colour.  So lovely!

Ah the Knibbes...I just love these guys! They are so fun and we had such a good time at this shoot. The location was perfect with such a variety of settings to choose from.  I think my favourite was the birch trees; the carved initials added such a great detail!  I loved that, in addition to some family shots, Amy wanted to really focus on pics of her and Jamie.  They are so cute together and so obviously still gaga over each other.  Who can blame the guy though?  Amy, you are such a beauty!
We finished the session with some strawberry ice cream, which I think I might implement into all of my sessions! ;)  A sweet end to a super-sweet session!

{family&children} the farmin' laarmans

Okay, so their not actually farming, but they did just move to this beautiful two-acre country lot and, with four kids, they are going to need the room!  Their new home was the perfect setting for this photo shoot. We are lucky enough to call Eugene and Caroline 'friends', and it's a good thing because with the unpredictable and fickle weather we had that day, we were able to spend the downtime enjoying some tea and chatting while we waited for the rain to stop.  It did stop and we were able to catch some great moments, some sun rays, and even a rainbow!

{family&children} how do you spell 'love'?

My title here (a question Piglet asks Winnie-the-Pooh) is a tribute to both the unconditional love I felt between this family, and to the fact that I keep misspelling their name!  The Romphf (I got it now!) family came together for dinner a few weeks ago, knowing that it may be the last time in a long time that they would all be able to do that.  Not only is it tough to get this many people in the same place at the same time, but a couple of the kids are also moving away.  The photo shoot also acted as a celebration of their mother, Donna, the one who started it all!
This family is full of some of the most kind and generous people I have ever met. Thank you Romphf family for asking me to capture this time in your lives!

Oh, and Pooh's answer to Piglet's question about love? "You don't spell it...you feel it."

{contests} floral

This week's evoking you photo challenge is 'floral'.  My passion is in portrait photography, so I don't often have photos of flowers or plants in my camera.  I'm also aware that these aren't technically flowers, haha!  But this photo of Reese in the weeds was so pretty, I thought I'd risk it as an entry anyway.
