{contests} childhood

This week's evoking you photo challenge is 'childhood'.  I had a really hard time choosing the photo this time! I have so many pics of my boy, and of coarse I am WAY biased and think they are all the cutest ever.  I just edited a series of him from a camping trip this summer, all filthy and wild, and was sure I would choose one of the photos from those...but in the end I picked this one.  It's another camping moment, this time capturing the sweet first tastes of the long-awaited ice cream cone!  There are so many moments with boy-o that take me back to my own childhood. I can't get enough of watching him experience all the 'classic' rights of passage.  I hope he remembers as least some of them!  Love you baby!

{maternity} wind, waves and water

Fellow photographers: ever have a shoot that was just...on?  A session that gave you tingles as you worked? This was that shoot for me.

The scenery was beautiful.  We met at Port Stanley beach two hours before sunset on a day that called for rain, but never actually rained. The sky was full of ominous clouds with sun-rays peaking through...oh, and did I mention the rainbow?  So cool.  The family was so fun to work with.  Sylvia is a beautiful woman and was, along with her eager hubby Gerald, up for anything! The kids are adorable and so well behaved, they made it so easy to get great shots.

I had the best time at this shoot and am so glad we didn't have to reschedule due to rain. I know Gerald and Sylvia are equally as glad, since their new baby was born two days later! 

Welcome Rowan Alexander! You are the newest part of a wonderful family.  You are going to have so much fun!

{maternity} wind in the willows

I loved meeting and working with this family! We met at Waterworks Park in St. Thomas, and, as per Linda's request, we made sure to make good use of the beautiful, cascading willow trees.  We ended the shoot at Locke's Public School where I noticed as I passed that they had these great colourful bins.  I was so thankful Linda was an "up for anything" kind of girl!

Linda, you are a doll and you have an adorable little boy and a lovely and patient (with me especially!) husband.  Thank you for letting me capture this exciting time in your life. I patiently await the birth of your new little bambino. Blessings and love to you guys! xo

This weeks evoke you photo challenge is "intimate", so I'm entering this shot of Jenica and Gary from my wheat kings and pretty things post in July.  Still so in love and crazy about each other after nine years of marriage. Love you Goertz's!

{wedding} becky + brad

I'm so excited to finally be posting the photos from this wedding! I first photographed Becky and Brad back in February for their engagement session. They are such a cute, sweet and loving couple, I was delighted when they asked me to photograph their big day.  The day was perfect, the bride was gee-orgeous, and their family and friends were so easy-going and excited.  It was a beautiful home wedding and you couldn't have asked for better weather.  What a great day for a great couple. Congratulations again Becky and Brad!
