{contests} fall

This week's evoking you photo challenge is "fall".  This photo might be a little 'cliche' as an Autumn portrait, but I love it. Family, laughter, dried leaves, fields of corn, sunsets...this is Fall to me. Especially when the cold chill is off-set by the warm reassurance of a hot meal being prepared inside.  Mmm...Fall.

{family&children} the way we were

This shoot is for one of the families that took advantage of my Fall Family Special mini-sessions.  I really do have the best clients and just love getting to know new people. The Letkemans were so sweet, their girls were so cute and I had a great time with them.  Margaret and Henry actually got engaged at Waterworks Park over fifteen years ago, so we made sure to hike a little further up the hill and get a few pics right where Henry popped the question.  So romantic and so worth it!  Here's to the next fifteen guys!

...but only God can count the number of apples in a seed. ~Robert H. Schuller

I think I've mentioned before how much I love taking photos for my nearest and dearest, well there are few nearer and dearer to my heart than my BFF Rachel.  Beautiful inside and out, I love just being with her. Whether we're trusting each other with our deepest thoughts, enjoying chatting over tea or good food (!) or taking photos, we always have a good time. Love you Rachel, and love your boys. Can't wait to meet the new member of your family; my honorary niece or nephew!

p.s. This is the orchard I recently found that I was telling you guys about! I can't wait to photograph there more often, especially this spring when the blossoms come out!

{family&children}{portrait} sweet strawberry blond

Rob and AnnMarie were the winners of this September's Mom to Mom Show mini-session.  As soon as AnnMarie heard she won she knew she wanted to use the session for her daughter.  I'm so glad she did because this little girl was so sweet and such a joy to work with! She was a natural in front of the camera and turned out gorgeous photo after gorgeous photo. Her smile, that hair! She just melts my heart!

{contests} fetish

This week's evoking you photo challenge is 'fetish' and right now mine is...BOKEH!

/bōˈkā/  1. The visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens 2. The out of focus regions of an image usually deliberate to produce an artistic effect or draw attention to a specific area of the photograph.

Bokeh has lots of definitions, but what I love about it is when the small areas of light in the background of a photograph produce these soft, pretty circles of colour.  So lovely!

{family&children} love train

Ah the Knibbes...I just love these guys! They are so fun and we had such a good time at this shoot. The location was perfect with such a variety of settings to choose from.  I think my favourite was the birch trees; the carved initials added such a great detail!  I loved that, in addition to some family shots, Amy wanted to really focus on pics of her and Jamie.  They are so cute together and so obviously still gaga over each other.  Who can blame the guy though?  Amy, you are such a beauty!
We finished the session with some strawberry ice cream, which I think I might implement into all of my sessions! ;)  A sweet end to a super-sweet session!
